#1: Fix Your Instagram Profile
A couple of years ago I noticed that more and more businesses were starting to use Instagram to market their products and services on social media, so I decided that it was time for me to start engaging on the platform.
However, when I looked at my profile there was no professional photo or bio, which is why I decided to invest in both.
There are lots of websites where you can get free photos for your profiles like pixabay , unsplash , picjumbo , etc…
Picjumbo also has some tutorials for editing your photos if you want to take it up a notch.
Also when I was setting my profile up I decided that I wanted people to understand what they would get if they followed me on Instagram.
So in order to do that I decided to create an action-based bio with bullet points describing the content that you can find on my account.
It took some time but in the end, this helped me gather more followers than before so it was well worth the effort – click here for more info!
#2: Post A Lot Of Photos
This is probably one of the most important tips for anyone looking to grow their Instagram accounts, in fact, there are many studies out there showing that consistency is key when posting content.
This means not only should you post photos daily, but you should also try to post at the same time during the day.
For example, if most of your followers are in North America then it might be best for you to start posting earlier in the morning, while if they are mostly based in Europe you could consider waiting until later in the day when they get out of work.
Also, make sure that whatever photos you decide to post are high quality with good lighting, this will ensure that your account looks good and makes people want to follow you!
I recommend using apps like Lightroom or VSCO Cam to edit your photos because they let you play around with lighting and contrast so that each photo has a unique look.
You can also use these apps to add borders and filters to your photos, or even add text to your photos as I did with my post below.
Another tip regarding the quality of the photo is that you want to make sure that it is at least 1200 pixels wide.
The reason for this is that Instagram gives users the option to zoom into a photo, which means that if your photo isn’t big enough then they won’t be able to see all of its details.
This will make them frustrated and most likely not follow you.
#3: Use Hashtags
Using hashtags on Instagram can be very helpful because it helps people find your account who are looking for certain things.
However many small business owners make the mistake of using way too many hashtags or just weird ones, which is why I recommend for you to check out this article by Shoutlet.
They have some great tips on how to use hashtags in order for your posts to get noticed, so make sure that you check it out.
Another tip regarding hashtags is that you should always include at least one custom hashtag.
This will make people interact with your posts by using the hashtag or even searching for it, which will lead them back to your account!
You can create a custom hashtag by using an app like Hashtag Finder, where all you have to do is type in a keyword and it will provide you with hundreds of options for hashtags that are related.
I also recommend posting at least five photos per day.
